It’s Autumn in Melbourne and I think it’s such a romantic season. I wanna share a gorgeous song “Towers” by Gretta Ray. She was only 17 and still in highschool when she produced this beautiful piece. There’s just so much to love about this song, from the fairy-tale like melodies, her beautiful voice and the witty lyrics. It’s a song about unrequited love, which to me is the most passionate kind of love affairs. All my characters are in this sort of relationship, lol. I think that to a degree everybody has unrequited love, it’s virtually impossible to love somebody with the exact same quantum as they love you, as long as we have different minds and perceptions. But it’s not necessarily a bad thing. Why should things be completely equal, we might as well be robots controlled centrally. It’s the little degrees of differences that provide a chance for a person to complete what’s lacking in the other that I find is the true purpose of unrequitedness. It teaches you to understand, see another’s point of view, and be kind.
Another cool thing I want to share is a manga called “Fumetsu No Anata E” (translated: “To You, The Immortal”) by Yoshitoki Ooima. Myanime’s description of it (which sucks me right in): “a mysterious being was sent to the surface of the earth and met a boy living alone in the middle of a tundra”. From there on, it’s an adventure of discovery. It’s at times hilarious, other times very sad, but all the time it’s a great observation about life and humanity. It’s actually quite a deep philosophical story but the Sci-fi side and gorgeous artwork/characters really make it interesting to follow:
It was 1996 and I was fourteen years old, it was also the year I went on a very memorable trip to UK to watch all my fave bands of that era. OMG and wasn’t that the best year for rock and roll? Okay so we have heard of Paul Weller, Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, The Blutones, Dodgy, and Catch… But Kula Shaker was the band that really made me know for the first time what going crazy for music was really all about. This song oh………..
Just a few random photos of my week 🙂
First let me start with Guy. I got him an Iplehouse tank top in EID model man size, I think it’s a liiiitle bit big, he keeps having nipple slips and I don’t know where to look when that happens ///><///
He always looks so sad this boy (Me likey that very much though).
And then disaster struck… You see I loooove Beef Japanese curry, and I have been craving one with shitake mushroom in it (i know it’s weird but I love those mushrooms). So I thought I’d cook some tonight, except I left it in the pressure cooker too long and when my partner took off the lid, the whole pot exploded! Wow… it was like…curry bomb O__O…now curry everywhere…(ironically my partner said it was also the best curry I’ve ever cooked taste-wise, wow life is indeed very strange…)
Let’s see… what else did I do… oh I worked on a girl head, yay! My first girly faceup in a verrrry long time! This is an Elfdoll Smiling Soah head. I really like this chica, she’s kind of cute but can be bitchy too, lol. I need to find her a body now:
And oh, we had a guest of honour come visit us at home. My friend Kagari and her gorgeous tanned Bermann Si and a couple of her adorable Lati babies 🙂
Surya got to babysit the Lati babies… haha who would’ve guessed he makes a good fatherly figure?
