Took these photos for Sicktress and also anyone who is curious to see what the Venitu head looks like on the DS18M (Old Hound) body. The Hound body is not the same as the Rhythmos body, although it’s confusing because Dollshe classed both of them as DS18M.
My personal opinion of this hybrid:
– I think proportion-wise it’s not too bad. The Venitu face is noticeably larger than the Hound face, although when comparing the size of the head itself Venitu is only just a touch bigger than Hound. On the Hound body, the Venitu just looks like someone really thin that’s all.
– If you place the Venitu head on the Hound neck as it is, it would look like the neck is too short. In these photos I have used a bit of putty around the base of the neck to prop it up slightly (or you can use a neck doughnut). You only need to lift it by about 2 mm, so not much propping is needed.
– Further down you will see how the Venitu head is constructed versus the Hound head, so a bit of engineering and modding would be needed to securely fasten the two together, simply because the hole on the Venitu head where the elastic feeds through is slightly off compared to the Hound head, but it shouldn’t be too complicated to mod this.
– The Venitu head’s base is larger than the Hound’s, so that when the neck is on the neck it would have a bit of gap, but as long as you’re not taking photos upshot it shouldn’t be that obvious.
This is a photo of a Hound head on the DS18M Old body:
Next are a bunch of photos of the Venitu head on this body:
It’s not the best, but hey this longish wig actually looks quite all right on Guy.
This next bit is just a rambling of a mad person, which should be ignored:
Just a few reference photos of Venitu with some of my other dolls.
The Venitu I ordered earlier this month arrived last night on 30th May 2014. He’s pretty cool 🙂 I don’t think I was ever this excited about ordering a BJD before.
