Wow it’s official! The Dollshe Arsene is my most favourite doll. The face shape is very pleasing and versatile, you can turn him into a sweet character or a mature character. The resin from Dollshe is the best to paint and it’s available in so many different colours.
I hope to paint a hundred of them. That’s right, 100 Arsene faces!! Lol… I don’t know if it can be possible, but I can dream…
For now I’d just like to share with you all two that I’ve painted so far… (98 more to go!)

Oh yes, I forgot to mention. I used this rubber band around the head to help the ears stay the same level (not one higher than the other).

He’s not the most good looking fellow, but hey I’m having fun just learning something I’ve never done before so all is good 🙂

I was given this pack of Das paper clay about 5 years ago and I’ve never really done anything with it other than prop my desk lol. So one day when I was bored I tinkered with it and tried to make a doll head. These pics are several weeks ago before I stuffed up my hand.
The first thing I did was used my Dollshe Saint Old Hound Body as a reference for size. I’ve stuck his torso part onto a box so I can turn it around while I work on the head because I didn’t have a lazy susan. Then I used a balsa wood stick which I wrapped with some foil to give me a ‘head start’ (still with the bad puns I’m sorry!)

So I have this Leekeworld Mihael head that I’ve kept for ages. I had it up for sale before but nobody wanted it so I’ve just given it a new faceup today. Previously he looked mean and haughty, thought I’d try and give him a bit of a submissive look this time. I like my subs…
I wish I had a more realistic wig, something with a neatly combed side part like boys used to wear back in the Victorian era. Oh well, this tousled mess of a hair will have to do for now.
So this is the new Guy Cameron Ogilvy. He seems to gain more names after each repaint haha. His character is meant to be 19 yo, but a lifelong battle with psychosis has staunched his youth. So, in terms of the repaint I hope this time, I was able to make him look slightly haunted and insomniac to reflect his troubled life. I have a deep love and hate relationship with him. He reminds me of my most dreadful insecurities but at the same time also my best wishes. We are the same in that he lives each day like it is his last.
